I. Upcoming Meeting (Monday January 15, 2007)
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday January 15th at 6:30 p.m. at city hall please attend.
This is a very important meeting as we are getting all our ducks in order for the GOCO grant due this March. Things are progressing well with donations coming in like the one from the HSP we received last week! We now have more responsibility to make sure that we cover all our bases and do our best to get the GOCO Grant and other funding. Things to think about for the next meeting:
1) Checking our Timeline and goals sheet
2) Completion of the CWCD grant by end of January
3) Developing a "framable" certificate and a letter of thanks for all donors that can be used a verification of a tax donation
.
4) Meeting with Aspen Earthmoving to finalize their donation.
5) Follow up with Alpine Bank on their donation.
6) Seeking out letters of support from various groups etc.
7) Planning for a meeting with the chamber members to silicit more donations
8) Planning for a meeting with Kiwanis Club on February 13th
9) Checking the status of the 404permit

II. Minutes from Last Meeting (Monday December 18, 2006)
December 19th WWP update: Happy Holidays All- Things are progressing very well on the Whitewater Park. Five of us attended the meeting last night. And these are the updates so far:
1) Joe, Bruce Christennsen and Jason Carey met with Bill Sanderson of Alpine bank to discuss the possibility of their support on Monday. The meeting was very positive.
2) Aspen Earthmoving has expressed an interest in helping out with the project in terms of both “in Kind” and Cash.
3) We are still looking for a location to store the rocks, which Chris Lehman believes we can get from up valley. Jason believes this could work as a staging area during construction. Hats off to Chris L for all his hard work so far.
4) Karen Price secured us an “In Kind” donation of business cards that we can distribute giving the WWPark’s website. They are very nice. Thanks Karen.
5) I called each of the County Commissioners as follow-up to our presentation and reminded them of the date of March 7th for any commitments they might want to make. That is the date we will apply to GOCO for a grant.
6) We are going to apply for a grant from Colorado Water Conservation District this January 31st.
7) We are also looking into applying for a grant from Colorado Division of Wildlife “Fishing is Fun Grant” as the park will provide access to anglers as well as Kayakers.
8) Jason and Nick are finishing up the 404 permit and hope too have our 30-day public review during January. Most all parts are looking good.
9) John Bosco from the HSP joined our meeting and is going to present to his board for possible funding toward the project. We will present to the HSP board if they want. I have also given him a copy of our most recent Power point presentation as a reference.
Merry Christmas Everyone! Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 15th, 2007 at 6:30p.m. city hall. Hope to see you there.
